The electric motor handles the suction and blowing modes, which are usually activated as soon as the iron is lifted from its base. Heating of the board, on the other hand, is done through an electric heating element regulated through a thermostat, which sets the temperature between 30 and 90 degrees Celsius.

As far as power and consumption are concerned, excellent results are already obtained with an electric motor of about 150 W and a 400 W heating element, although some high-performance models for industrial use can reach up to 800 W.
